Mr. Humyoon Rasaw comes from an intellectual family; He was born in 1966 in Ghazni Province. He completed his primary and secondary education from Ghazi high school, Kabul. Mr. Rasaw holds Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from Kabul University and Master’s degree in Information Technology from University of Preston. Read More 

Ms. Kamila Sidiqi is a prominenteconomic activist in Afghanistan who has worked in leadership roles in various sectors. Currently, she is the Deputy Minister for Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in June 2017. From 2014-2017 she was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Admin and Finance in the Administrative Office of President.

For the past several years, she has beenactively engaged in promoting gender issues, private sector development,transparency and anti-corruption in Afghanistan.Prior to joining the government, Ms. Sidiqi was a successful entrepreneur and was one the first businesswomen of Afghanistan. During her work in the private sector, she made ground breaking achievements in various fields and received recognition across the globe for her endeavors in male dominated sectors.

In February 2017, Ms. Sidiqi represented Afghanistan as a key speaker in the AFPAK Partnership Summit: Workable Solutions in a New Era which was held in Mali.In 2015, Ms. Sidiqi was a keynote speaker at The Economist Magazine’s World in 2016 event in Hong Kong and Singapore. The year 2014 saw Ms. Kamila as a speaker at the Power of Empowered Women Event organized by the United Nations in Geneva. She was a speaker at Regional Policy Dialogue on Central Asia's Regional Challenges organized in Turkey by the Hollings Center and has represented Afghanistan's women entrepreneurs in several B2B conferences organized in India, Tajikistan. She was also a founding member of the Steering Committee of the South Asia Women Entrepreneurs Symposium (SAWES). 
The Dressmaker of KhairKhana which is a book on the life and achievements of Ms. Sidiqi has received international acclaim and recognition and was a New York Times Best Seller in 2012. It was a part of the Common Reading Program at University of Florida for the class of 2016. 
Ms. Kamila has been recognized as a Peace Hero in Afghanistan in 2014 by Modern Organization for Education and Development. She was also part of The International Alliance of Women World of Difference awardees in 2014.
 
 
 

BIOGRAPHY OF DEPUTY MINISTER FOR PRIVATE SECTOR DEVELOPMENT & INDUSTRIES

Mr. Feroz Khan Masjidi born in a small village of Parwan province in Afghanistan has had a journey full of success in a very young age. His journey from a student of a village school to the professor of economics in the largest University of country and then to Deputy Minister of Industries of Afghanistan within 10 years of his career is an idol among the youth Afghanistan. He has started his first job as Investment policy adviser with Ministry of Commerce and Industries when he was in last year of his Undergraduate studies. He then received a worldwide prestigious scholarship (Fulbright Scholarship) to purse his higher education in the United States of America and completed his MSc Economics in the Oklahoma State University in 2011.

His rich working experience with Ministry of Commerce and Industries , Afghanistan Development Strategy, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture, Finance and several Non-Government organization  on Development issues including Infrastructure development and his excellent educational background combined with  and His commitment, hard work and enthusiasm towards the development of Afghanistan’s economy took him to higher level of Management position in the government, where he currently serves as the Deputy Minister for Industries.

Mr. Masjidi has participated in several and conference on relevant issues and has several Published articles on Development issues. In his current role he is working to take the industries of Afghanistan to a new level and create an enabling environment for private business and investments through bringing necessary reforms and developing business friendly policies and strategies.

    On 25th September 2017, via recommendation letter No. 142 of Ministry of Commerce & Industries (MoCI) HE was proposed to the assignment of Deputy Minister of Private Sector Development & Industries of Ministry of Commerce and Industries, GoIRA. On 28th September 2017, via Decree No. 153 of President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Assistant Professor Mr. Feroz Khan Masjidi was appointed as Deputy Minister of Private Sector Development & Industries of Ministry of Commerce and Industries, GoIRA
