Resumption of Talk Stone Exports

The process of exporting talk stone has resumed. In the last two months, thousands of tons of talk stone have been exported from Nangarhar province, collecting nearly 100 million Afghanis.
Mr. Mohammad Hassan Mohsen, Director of Industry and Commerce Department in Nangarhar province said, 37 factories are operating in this sector for several years, providing employment for 5000 people.
Officials of talk stone processing plants said, most of the processed talk stone is exported to India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Germany, Colombia, and Sri Lanka.
It is noteworthy that talk mines exist in Khogyani, Shirzad, and Shinwari districts, and thousands of tons of talk are extracted from these mines annually and exported abroad.
