Progress in amending Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA)

The 1st meeting of the Negotiating Policy Group of the modified transit agreement with the IR of Pakistan, co-chaired by Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Mr. Kabir Khan Issa Khel, Senior Advisor to the President on Legal Affairs and Head of the Presidential Legal Unit was held in the presidential palace.

At this meeting, the technical group negotiated the APTTA agreement and shared the results of their talks with the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce had begun regular talks with Pakistan to amend the agreement following the 8th meeting of APTICA, held in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan.

Decent progress has been made in amending the APTTA, and soon, after resolving minor disputes between the two countries, the amended text of the agreement will be signed by senior Afghan-Pakistani officials.
