Thirty percent increase in Afghanistan's exports in the 1st six months of 1400 fiscal year

Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, who attended the annual meeting of the leadership board of the Afghanistan Raisin, Fruit, Vegetable and Plant Export Development Authority, said, in the first six months of the 1400 fiscal year, Afghanistan's exports have significantly increased by 30 percent.

Mr. Ghoryani added, the MoIC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, will open single centers in the customs of Nangarhar, Kandahar, and Herat provinces during the export documentation process, and soon, two more branches will be opened in two provinces.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, congratulating the agency on obtaining international standard accreditations, said, most of Afghanistan's exports include dried fruits and saffron.

Ministry of Industry and Commerce, to provide the necessary facilities to increase Afghanistan's exports especially medicinal plant exports, this year, has signed several MoU’s with various countries to increase exports and improve trade, and also in cooperation with public and private institutions, work on the process and packaging of the Ferula asafetida and how to export it.

Moreover, under the guidance of the President and the MoIC leadership, the attaches' offices have doubled their efforts to market domestic products and improve trade with countries in the region and the world.

On the other hand, in the coming weeks, the Dubai International Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai, for six months, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has made the necessary preparations to pave the way for the participation of Afghanistan traders in this Expo.

During the meeting, Mr. Sayed Azim Mustafa Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Raisin, Fruit, Vegetable and Plant Export Development Authority, said, the directorate has already approved several types of international standards for export products, especially dried fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants, with the approval of International organizations.
