In his recent assignment, Sulaiman led multiple teams to enhance Afghanistan’s exports to an increasingly diversified set of regional and international markets. At the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, his main responsibilities were to develop national trade & transit policies as well as the implementation of Afghanistan’s post-accession strategy at the WTO. His unit served as a secretariat for the inter-ministerial National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) of Afghanistan.

Previously, Sulaiman has assisted the Government of Afghanistan to promote investment opportunities and attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDI). He has direct experience of working with international firms, business associations, and policy organizations with a focus on ecosystems, industrial development, and sustainability. While bringing more than 08 years of experience leading teams on international business strategies, external communications, and private sector development, he has an excellent profile for engaging national and international stakeholders.

His interest & focus includes topics such as Trade & Investment Promotion, Entrepreneurship & Ecosystems, Global Value Chains, and Private Sector Development. He has undertaken multiple assignments with the World Bank, kfW, ACGF, FMFB-A, and other private clients.

He is a Fulbright scholar (M.A. International Trade & Economic Diplomacy) from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS), California.
