Afghanistan supports India's trade policies in World Trade Organization

Members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) praised India's efforts to improve India's trade and economic policies, comprehensiveness and sustainability, during the 7th Indian Trade Policy Review.
Mr. Sayed Ramin Zaiwari, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the WTO, in a statement congratulated the continued economic growth, increasing share in global exports and imports, and the country's rise in important economic and growth-related indicators, its rise in the World Bank's Doing Business Rankings, innovation index and logistics performance index.
Meanwhile, Mr. Zaiwari praised India 's commitment to trade liberalization under the WTO' s multilateral trade system, stressing the importance of ratifying the trade facilitation agreement in 2016, which has led to a number of measures to be taken.
Emphasizing the importance of friendly relations between India and Afghanistan and the existence of a huge potential for the expansion of bilateral trade, he said, Afghanistan strongly stresses the role of India among other countries in maintaining an open multilateral trade system based on WTO rules. It forms the central system and is in fact a transparent and comprehensive system, and development is its fundamental goal.
It is noteworthy that the representatives of India expressed their gratitude for Afghanistan's support.
