Carpet Exports Will Increase This Year

Consultative meeting on the implementation of the 6% support package to increase exports under the chairmanship of Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, with the participation of Mr. Mohammad Sulaiman Binshah, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Carpet Producers and Exporters Union was held at the conference hall of this ministry.

At the beginning of this meeting; Mr. Ghoryani, MOIC Minister said, with the implementation of a 6% incentive and support package for the carpet sector, the country's carpet exports will increase significantly this year.

Mr. Ghoryani added, the MoIC is creating permanent carpet markets in the United States, Germany, and Dubai, by creating short-term and long-term exhibitions where carpet producers can display their products in these exhibitions.

Emphasizing support for the carpet industry sector, the Minister of Industry and Commerce said, the ministry, with the support of international donors, would provide interest-free loans to increase carpet production and exports soon.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ghoryani added, that the Ministry of Industry and Trade provides all the technical facilities for weaving, producing, washing, processing, and exporting carpets with the Afghanistan name and logo inside the country to further support this sector.

In this meeting, carpet producers shared their views and suggestions on how to implement a 6% support package for carpets to increase their exports and expressed their gratitude for the MoIC.
