Efforts To Enhance Trade and Transit Ties With Pakistan and Address Issues of Afghan Refugees

The IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi along with the representative from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, honorable Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The meeting focused on trade, transit, and the situation of Afghan refugees within the mentioned country.
During the bilateral meeting, the IEA's delegation requested several proposals aimed at developing the living conditions of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, that include halting the forced deportation of refugees untill an appropriate time, ending hard mouthed detentions, stopping the deportation of students from schools, providing required facilities for transfer of Afghan refugees’ belongings and assets, and ensuring unhindered access to healthcare services.
It is noteworthy, that this meeting was held as part of ongoing bilateral efforts to address issues of Afghan refugees as well as to enhance trade and transit ties between the two countries.
