Minister of Industry and Commerce Emphasized on Increasing the Export Volume of Agricultural Products to American and European countries

Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, attended an online meeting with the participation of Mr. Hashmatullah Ghafouri, Deputy Minister of Irrigation and Natural Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Dr. Stephen Locke, Head of the EU Cooperation Department, Whim Raipa, Head of Social Affairs, Ms. Enrica and Monter Sino.

Mr. Ghoryani stressed the need to increase Afghanistan's agricultural exports to European and American countries following international standards.

Mr. Ghoriani added, the MoIC is working on comprehensive plans to increase the country's export products, especially agricultural products, to international standards.

Meanwhile, the MoIC is in talks with organizations working in the field of providing quality certificates for export products, toto receivereceive international certifications for the country's export products.

In this meeting, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and the representatives of the European Union emphasized on increasing the quality of Afghanistan's agricultural products and said, we are cooperating to obtain quality certificates with international standards for the country's agricultural products.

The meeting focused on the views of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock on the development of agricultural trade, EU’s support to improve and standardize Afghanistan's agricultural exports, improve export certificates in terms of production status and quality. And the EU's $17 million support for the Omid project was discussed.
