STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR(Reanouce)

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of ICT Directorate, Ministry of Industry & Commerce is looking for a Storage Administrator to its data center operated at ACBR. This position is mainly responsible for the SAN storage system installation, configuration, data backup, and training of the relevant staff at ACBR/MoIC.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Storage Administrator is required to install and configure various servers with the help of storage area network.
• Storage Administrator is required to troubleshoot/ errors in SAN storage systems 
• Storage Administrator needs to ensure that all these servers are maintained properly.
• Storage Administrator needs to monitor the performance of the computer systems as well as the server and ensure that these systems work efficiently.
• Storage Administrator is required to ensure that the backup of important data present on the servers is taken at the time of installing or uninstalling any software program or application.
• Storage Administrator needs to schedule the maintenance activity of these servers on a regular basis and inform about it to the staff members connected to different systems via these servers well in advance so that they can manage their tasks accordingly.
• Storage Administrator is required to ensure that the maintenance activity of these servers is done in the most cost effective way.
• Storage Administrator is required to install software programs and applications on the computer systems.
• Storage Administrator needs to see to it that the systems and servers are upgraded as per the latest technological advancements from time to time.
• Storage Administrator is required to conduct server tests to check the efficiency and accuracy of the servers.
• Storage Administrator is required to maintain proper backup schedule, restore and recover data as requested and facilitate off-site storage.
• Storage Administrator is required to forecast storage growth.
• Storage Administrator is required to provide training to the relevant IT staff
• Any other responsibility assigned by the ICT/ACBR directorates, should be performed efficiently
• Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
• Storage Administrator is required to provide its activity report to the ICT & ACBR directorates on weekly and monthly basis. 

JOB LOCATION:

Afghanistan, Kabul

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication or equivalent qualification required / Master Degree in relative field (preferred).
• 5 Years of practical work experience in general IT services & minimum 2 Years extensive work experience in storage administration. 
• Strong communication skills in Pashto, Dari, English.
• CCNA, MCITP, SAN, VMware, MCSA-2016. Certification holders have higher priority
