Position Title:                         WTO Affairs Advisor

Objective: Develop strategies for maximum utilization of WTO membership

Key Responsibility: WTO Membership Utilization

  • Strategy: Assist WTO Directorate in implementation of the post accession strategy. Do case studies and researches and develop potential legal cases to be brought to WTO.
  • WTO Commitments implementation: Develop benchmarks and set specific deadlines for each benchmark, as well as sections to ensure that all involved government entities and/or private sectors are fully informed and work toward full implementation of the WTO agreements
  • National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC): Assist WTO directorate to prepare agenda, reports, presentation for the NTFC meetings and other high level meetings
  • Training: Develop monthly training program for employees to increase MoIC employees’ capacity

Education, Experience & Skills


  • Minimum Masters’ degree in Economics, Law, International law, International Trade


  • Three years relevant experience in trade policy or relevant field


  • Ability to develop and write concise strategies
  • Strong research capabilities
  • Ability to interpret goals into objectives and benchmarks
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders, including with other MoIC departments, external government bodies, the private sector, and international stakeholders
  • Ability to use common computer software, including email, MS Office, and develop databases in excel
  • Ability to take initiative to reach objectives
