Holding a consultation meeting on amending the APTTA agreement in Khost province

A consultative meeting on the amendment of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit-Trade Agreement (APTTA) was held online with the presence of Mr. Mohammad Sulaiman Binshah, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Governor of Khost Province, and representatives of the private sector in the Khost province.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Binshah, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce said, the Ministry, with the support of the H.E President, seeks to amend the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit-Trade Agreement (APTTA) and asked the provincial private sector to share their opinions for reforming and amending this agreement.
Mr. Binshah added that by amending the APTTA agreement and including the private sector's views, a new transit-trade space will be created between the two countries and the countries of the region, which will definitely benefit Afghanistan's trade and transit.
At this meeting, the Governor of Khost, representatives of the private sector, and the directors of this ministry shared their views and suggestions on the amendments and progress in amending this agreement with the MoIC leadership and representatives of the private sector.
The MoIC has so far held several meetings with private sector representatives in the provincial capitals of Kandahar and Nangarhar and soon will hold with Herat and Balkh private sector representatives
Currently, the MoIC technical groups, in close cooperation with the Legal Unit of the H.E President, are discussing the amendment of the APTTA agreement with the Pakistan Ministry of Commerce technical group.
