Increase in Oxygen Production in Afghanistan

Mr.  Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce called on oxygen-producing factories to increase the level of Oxygen production to meet the needs of COVID-19 patients.

Mr. Ghoryani, stresses that after the request of the Ministry of Public Health to increase the use of oxygen in COVID-19 hospitals in Kabul and the provinces, the production factories have also increased the amount of oxygen production.

According to the Minister of Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, several benevolent traders have also constantly assisted in the shipment of oxygen capsules for COVID-19 hospitals.

On the other side, under the MoIC leadership, a joint committee of government departments has been established to study and solve the challenges of oxygen production factories in Kabul and the provinces.

Currently, 30 oxygen factories operating in Kabul and the provinces which produce 10,000 capsules of oxygen daily and sell them to COVID-19 hospitals and those in need of oxygen.
