Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Meets with Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan

The Acting  Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, met with Uzbekistan's ambassador to Afghanistan, honorable Mr. Aybek Usmanov today afternoon.

During this meeting, both sides, discussed various topics, including: Allocating land for the construction of a cement factory in Samangan province, Obtaining necessary permits for transferring machinery and equipment from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan to implement geological exploration projects in northern regions of the country, obtaining Afghan standard certification for Uzbekistan’s synthetic diesel, accelerating the implementation of the power transmission line project (Surkhan–Pul-e-Khumri) and extending it to Sheikh Mesri; enhancing Termez International Trade Center, constructing a hospital, residential facilities, and expanding this market into Afghanistan, and holding international Halal exhibition in Termez.

Further in the meeting, honorable Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi was invited to visit Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is noteworthy, that the discussions made in this meeting were for follow up of agreements which had previously been made upon during the visit of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan as well as the visit of Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister to Afghanistan.
