Afghanistan and Iran to Increase Transit Via Railway

Date: 20 January 2025

The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, met with the delegation from Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Engineer Morteza Jafari, Utilization Deputy of Railway Administration of the said country.

During the meeting, discussions were made regarding imports and exports between the two countries via railway, as well as the transit of goods from Afghanistan to European countries through Iran and Turkey.

The delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran pledged to handle Afghanistan good's transit at the lowest possible fees within the shortest possible time.

Honorable Mr. Alhaj Azizi stressing the need for both countries to provide facilities for traders and to increase railway transportation, he introduced a team of 5 members to the Iranian delegation for further coordination.
