The Agreements Reached During the IEA's Deputy PM Visit to Iran to Become Operational

A bilateral meeting between the delegation of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, and the delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by the Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan province honorable Mr. Mohammad Karami, was held, whereas Iran's special envoy and ambassador to Afghanistan honorable Mr. Hassan Kazemi Qomi, was also present.
During the meeting for which the Iranian delegation, comprising officials and private sector representatives, led by Governor Karami, are visiting Afghanistan, discussions were made regarding the operationalization of agreements concerning Chabahar Port and the Free Zone, which had been established during the visit of the IEA's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Honorable Mr. Mula Abdul Ghani Baradar alongside the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi to Iran.
At the meeting, stressing the need to enhance Chabahar's competitiveness, a technical committee consists of the representatives of both parties was assigned to further discuss and implement the agreed-upon measures.
