Kabul, Afghanistan: At present, all Afghanistan ports are open to commercial vehicles, imports and exports are routine from these ports.
Honored Mr. Abdul Karim Malikyar Acting Deputy Minister for Industry and Commerce, who spoke at a press conference at the Government Media Information Center - Public Relations and Strategic Office of the President, added: in the 2nd quarter of the fiscal year, Afghanistan ports were closed to trade due to COVID-19 pandemic, but now the situation in the country's ports have returned to normal.
Malikyar said; the trade period in 2019 reached a total of $ 7.6 billion, of which $ 6.6 billion was imports and $ 995 million was exports.
Emphasizing that the process of import and export of Afghanistan has been affected by the crisis of the outbreak of coronavirus, he added: "In the first six months of 2020, the country's total imports reaches 2623.5 million dollars and total exports reaches 235.5 million dollars."
He said a comparison of the first six months of 2020 with the first six months of 2019 showed that Afghanistan's imports had fallen by 23 percent and exports by 28 percent.
Malikyar, delighted with the increase in exports through the air corridors in the first seven months of fiscal year 1399, added: The value of exports through the air corridors in the first seven months of fiscal year 1399 compared to the same time in last year, 17% and export volume has increased by 29%.
