Holding the 3RD meeting of the APTTA Amended Negotiation Policy Group

The 3RD meeting of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit-Trade Agreement (APTTA) Negotiated Policy Group was chaired by Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce with the participation of representatives of the President's Legal Unit, government agencies, and the private sector.

In this meeting, the report on the progress of work in amending the APTTA agreement and future plans to resolve the remaining disputes was discussed.

Thus far, several important and valuable rounds of talks have been held between the technical negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the technical negotiating team of the Republic of Pakistan to amend the APTTA agreement, which has made good progress.

Soon, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce will hold a national and consultative conference with the private sector in Kabul to receive the final opinions and suggestions of private sector leaders on amending this agreement and inserting it in the amended text of APTTA.
