Holding a technical meeting of the Agricultural Products and Saffron Afghanistan National Export Strategy Committee

The 1st technical meeting of 1400 of the Committee on Agricultural Products and Saffron of the National Export Strategy of Afghanistan was held under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce with the participation of government institutions and the private sector, members of this committee.

In this meeting, Mr. Shabir Bashardost, Acting Director of the Export Development, while presenting a report on the activities of the mentioned Committee’s progress, announced the implementation of the activities of the committee.

Moreover, Government organizations and the private sector presented their views and suggestions on their activities and challenges of exporting agricultural products to international markets.

Concluding, it was decided that the key activities of government and private sector institutions, regarding the growth and development of agricultural exports, has to be identified and specified, coordination and alignment between government agencies and the private sector to be created to facilitate the export process, certification mechanism for products and to prepare an agricultural inventory, especially the Afghan Ferula asafetida, a plan for packaging and marketing of Afghanistan saffron and a mechanism to prevent the smuggling of Afghanistan apples.
