IEA's Delegation Visits the World’s Largest Land Port

Date: 19 October 2024

On the second day of the Afghanistan government-private sector delegation headed by acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, visit to Almaty city, Kazakhstan, the delegation paid a visit to the world's largest land port and free trade zone located in the said country.

Khorogs Port, known as the world's largest land port, is located on the border between China and Kazakhstan, whereas China's major Belt and Road Initiative passes through the said area, connecting to Europe.

It is noteworthy that the Afghanistan government-private sector delegation traveled to Almaty yesterday with the aim of holding an exhibition of Afghanistan products, participating in official meetings with Kazakhstan's officials, attending business meetings, and taking part in a trade connection conference.
