Inauguration of an online trademark registration center in Herat province

The online trademark registration center in Herat province was inaugurated and put into operation with the presence of Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Abdul Saboor Qane Herat Governor, Mr. Hamidullah Khadem, Herat Chamber of Mines and Industry, representatives of the private sector, industrialists and investors.
Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce at the inauguration ceremony said, following national and international commitments, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has established a trademark registration center in Herat province to provide the necessary facilities for investors.
Mr. Ghoryani added, according to the rules, regulations and international obligations of Afghanistan to the World Trade Organization, systematization and strengthening of a transparent system in the process of registration of intellectual property and trademarks, the institutionalization of the trademark registration culture of this center has been created.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasizing the provision of necessary facilities to the private sector, especially investors said, previously an online trademark registration center was established in the center, now in Herat and in the next steps in Kandahar, Nangarhar, Khost, and Balkh provinces.
Meanwhile, government officials in Herat province and representatives of the private sector welcomed the establishment of the center and called it a step towards transparency and providing facilities for industrialists, businessmen and investors.
Online trademark registration center in Herat province to provide facilities for clients, implementing Afghanistan's commitments to the World Trade Organization in establishing a system and expanding the activities of the Intellectual Property Protection Directorate, encouraging and promoting a more trademark registration culture, raising revenue levels, accelerating the work process of registering trademarks and limiting areas of corruption.
