Increase in the Export of Medicinal Plants and Oils

According to the statistics provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Investment of Herat province, the export of medicinal plants and oils in the province in 1399 has increased compared to last year.
In 1398, the export of medicinal plants and oils from Herat province was close to 20.000 tons worth $21 million, but in 1399 the export of these plants increased to 36000 tons worth $40 million.
The difference in the number of medicinal plants in 1399 compared to 1398 is more than 16 thousand tons, the total value of which reaches nearly 19 million US dollars.
Medicinal and oil plants include black and white cumin, languish seeds (herbal seeds), licorice, sesame, sorrel, halibut, basil seeds are mostly exported to Europe, Arab, Turkey, and India countries.
Afghanistan is one of the most important countries in the region and the world in terms of the production of quality medical and botanical plants, which are also a major part of Afghanistan's export items.
