Following the meeting of His Excellency, the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, with private sector entrepreneurs held last week and was directed to work on the mechanism of tax penalties and exemption from government property rent, and to present the report to the office of President for final decision.
A joint meeting of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Finance and respected representatives of the private sector, including (Afghanistan Chambers Federation, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Afghanistan Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock and Afghan Chamber of craftsmen and shopkeepers) Considerations on how to exempt tax penalties, controlling the bank accounts of entrepreneurs difficulties, tax accounts clearance challenges, creating more coordination between the private sector and the Ministry of Finance, enlightening the private sector and other important matters were conversed.
It was decided; Ministries of Finance and Industry & Commerce in consultation with the private sector to prepare a specific business plan on how to exempt tax penalties, based on the mentioned details, and hand it over to the office of president.
At the end, it was decided, with the intention of maintaining more coordination between Ministry of Finance and Private Sector with the consultation of Afghanistan Chambers Federation, they have to jointly work on launching awareness letters on how to calculate depreciation and establish a mechanism on how to control bank accounts.
