Meeting of the Minister of Industry and Commerce with the Ministers of Economic Development and Trade, Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan

H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Minister of Industry and Commerce, who accompanied by H.E President Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his accompanying delegation, traveled to the Republic of Tajikistan to attend the two-day Heart of Asia Conference (Istanbul Process) with Mr. Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, Minister of Economic Development and Trade and Mr. Sherali Kabir Minister of Industry and New Technologies, met in the capital, Dushanbe.
During the meeting, they discussed the development of trade, transit, and economic cooperation between the two countries, the facilitation of trade relations, the removal of barriers to the export of Afghanistan products to Tajikistan, and the start of cooperation in the field of joint ventures in various sectors between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan said, Afghanistan businessmen are facing difficulties in obtaining trade visas from the Republic of Tajikistan and we want the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to resolve this problem.
Emphasizing the increase in exports of Afghanistan products to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Ghoryani called for cooperation in increasing trade relations.
Moreover, Mr. Ghoryani also asked Tajik investors to invest in Afghanistan or to start joint ventures with Afghan investors.
The Ministers of Economic Development, Trade, Industry, and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan also called for joint cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in the fields of economy, trade, transit, and industry and promised to solve the problems of visas for Afghan businessmen.
Concluding, the two sides decided that the technical teams of the Ministries of Industry and Commerce of IR of Afghanistan and Economic and Trade Development and Industry and new technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan will work together to provide the necessary facilities for expanding economic, trade, transit and industrial cooperation and begin drafting memoranda of understanding and bilateral agreements between the two countries.
