Online meeting of the Minister of Industry and Commerce with the Head of Asian Development Bank in Afghanistan

Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce attended an online meeting with Mr. Narendra Singru, Head of the Asian Development Bank in Afghanistan, to discuss the beginning of joint cooperation between the Ministry and the Asian Development Bank on Afghanistan's private sector development.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ghoryani MoIC Minister thanked the ADB for its financial and technical support for important and national projects in Afghanistan and said.
Mr. Ghoryani added, in the last two decades, the ADB has provided projects in various sectors and has financed Afghanistan and funded 175 projects worth $5.99 billion.
Emphasizing the role of the private sector in the economic development of the country, Mr. Ghoryani said, we are trying to simplify; Create facilities for the private sector and an environment conducive to attracting foreign investment, develop policies in line with UN development goals, boost exports, and increase trade and transit to increase Afghanistan's domestic production.
Moreover, Mr. Ghoryani shared the five-year plan of this ministry, which includes management change, an increase of trade and transit, an increase of export, growth of industry, and creation of the business environment, with the head of Afghanistan Asian Development Bank for Afghanistan and asked their cooperation with this ministry.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce also said, the implementation of these programs with the financial and technical support of international institutions, especially the Asian Development Bank, will provide the necessary conditions for the development and growth of industry, trade, and transit, and socio-economic.
On the other hand, Mr. Narendra Singru, Head of the Asian Development Bank in Afghanistan, thanked the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for its five-year plan and said, we are ready to support these projects.
Mr. Singru added, the ADB, in addition to supporting the ministry's five-year plan, wants to cooperate in other areas related to private sector development.
