President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani this evening, during a meeting with members of the Afghanistan Chambers Federation and a number of entrepreneurs, listened to their concerns and problems regarding the import of primary food materials.
During the meeting, which took place at the Arg, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, shared a plan to prepare strategic stocks of primary food materials with the President, saying that about 10.000 tons of food materials had been marketed in the last month.
The Vice President of the Afghanistan Chambers Federation then made specific suggestions on the problems of the sector and its solutions.
Subsequently, President Ghani, addressed the members of the Afghanistan Chambers Federation and Entrepreneurs, saying that your tariff will be exempted for one month, after which we will make a decision accordingly.
The president emphasized that the private sector is my right hand and those who take bribes from it are committing national treason.
Moreover, he instructed the Ministry of Finance to recruit staff in consultation with the private sector through a transparent process and prepare the ground for exports.
The President instructed the AOP, the MoF, and the Kabul Municipality to work together to solve the problems of the private sector.
