The first iodinated Salt Plant started to operate in Laghman province

The first iodinated salt plant started in Mehtarlam city of Laghman province.

The plant, is built on one acre of land with an initial investment of $ 60000, has a production capacity of 1 tone of iodinated salt round the clock and has provided jobs for 20 people.

This Plant supplies the required raw materials from the salt mines of Balkh, Faryab and Takhar provinces, and sells its products to the Laghman and neighboring provinces.

The plant uses the salt waste to produce detergents and chicken grain.
