Inauguration of the Business Improvement Working Group in Afghanistan

Afghanistan Improvement Working Group chaired by H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Minister of Industry and Commerce with the participation of representatives of government organizations, private sector, representatives of industrial-production and commercial companies and international institutions, was opened and started its activities.
At the beginning of the ceremony, H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani said, the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world, especially in Afghanistan, not only had a negative impact on social life, but also disrupted the process of economic, trade, transit and industrial activities.
Mr. Ghoryani emphasized, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has established a Business Improvement Working Group, to facilitate and support private sector development, identify challenges and opportunities for private sector growth, and provide appropriate solutions.
The working group, led by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, holds regular monthly meetings with the private sector, representatives of financial organizations, ministries, government organizations in private sector development, and international institutions, and reports the achievements and challenges to the High Economic Council.
On the other side, representatives of the private sector and industrial-production and trade companies that are members of this working group say that, supporting their activities can improve the level of production and increase the volume of exports throughout Afghanistan.
Moreover, international donors say that they are ready to provide technical and financial assistance to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the private sector to improve the state of Afghanistan's industry and trade in various areas of cooperation and companies affected by the global crisis of the Corona virus.
This working group, works in 5 important economic, industrial-commercial zones of the country on carpets, saffron, cashmere, precious stones, semi-precious stones and jewelryو and provides the necessary opportunities for improving and increasing the level of production, packaging and export.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, while establishing this working group and making the necessary coordination to reduce the level of damage caused by the corona virus during this year, has been able to improve the situation of industry and trade; One-stop-Shop Center, the presence of women in economic and industrial activities and increasing the presence of women in the body of the Ministry, expanding Afghanistan's exports to 65 countries through various transit-trade routes, air corridors and paving the way for attracting domestic and foreign investors in various sectors in the country.
