MoIC Holds a Coordination and Consulting Meeting on Enhancing Capacity of Tarakhil Thermal Power Generation Facility

During the meeting, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, along with representatives from the Office of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the leadership of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines, as well as a large number of industrialists, discussed matters related to energy supply for industrial and manufacturing factories and ways to increase the electricity production capacity of the said power facility.
Initially, a representative from Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat provided a detailed explanation regarding the plan for expanding the capacity of Tarakhil thermal power generation facility, presenting it to the IEA's cabinet, as well as the decisions of the Economic Commission of the cabinet in this regard.
Following, the Acting Minister of Industry stressed the significance of electricity as a vital element in the country’s industrialization process and highlighted the IEA leadership’s focus in this regard. He added that upon establishing new industrial parks and the distribution of land to industrialists, the demand for electricity has been increased than ever before, therefore, the responsible institutions must make additional efforts to ensure its supply.
Further in the meeting, the officials from Chamber of Industries and Mines, along with industrialists, shared their views on ensuring electricity supply to factories and enhancing the capacity of Tarakhil thermal power generation facility.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is supposed to gather the opinions and suggestions of the attendees an get them compiled into a detailed report which will be submitted to the respected Economic Commission of the cabinet for decision-making.
