A National Consultative Conference on Amending the APTTA Agreement will be held

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is holding a large and national consultative conference consisting of senior representatives of the various trade-transit sectors in Kabul to receive the final opinions and suggestions of the private sector on amending Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit-Trade Agreement (APTTA).

Mr. Mohammad Sulaiman Binshah, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, who was on the second day of the consultative meeting on the amendment of the APTTA agreement with the representatives of the private sector in Balkh, Kunduz, Herat, and Kabul provinces, said, receiving private sector opinions and suggestions on amending the APTTA for the MoIC is very important and valuable.

Mr. Binshah added, the purpose of holding this conference is to receive their final views and suggestions on modifying APTTA and sharing the latest information in the negotiations of this agreement with Pakistan.

In this conference, Mr. Khanjan Alokozai, Vice President of the Afghanistan Chambers Federation, representatives of the private sector of Balkh, Kunduz, Herat, and Kabul provinces, expressed their views and suggestions on transit and transport problems in the two countries, suggestions for providing necessary facilities in the above-mentioned areas and other trade-related issues.

Ministry of Industry and Commerce, with the support of the President and receiving comments and suggestions from the private sector, will conduct intensive talks aimed at amending the APTTA agreement with Pakistan.

Ministry of Industry and Commerce, to receive the opinions and suggestions of the private sector of the provinces, especially the provinces that have a common trade-transit border with neighboring countries, to include their suggestions in the amendment of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit-Trade Agreement; Has held meetings in Kandahar, Nangarhar and Khost provinces.
