Afghanistan and Turkey to Establish Technical and Communication Committees for Economic and Trade Affairs

The IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, during his official visit to the Republic of Turkey, met with the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey honorable Mr. Ömer Bolat, on the sidelines of the Istanbul International Halal Expo 2024.

During the meeting, the IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, expressed his thankfulness to Mr. Bolat for inviting the Afghanistan delegation to the expo. In response, the Turkish Minister of Trade welcomed the participation of IEA's delegation headed by honorable Mr. Alhaj Azizi and expressed his optimism for further collaboration between the two countries.

Both sides, recalled the previous visits by government and private sector delegations from Afghanistan and Turkey, considering these visits as the foundation for increasing and expanding trade ties between the two countries.

At the conclusion, both parties agreed to establish technical and communication committees tasked to identify challenges, issues, and opportunities meanwhile seeking appropriate solutions. They also stressed the significance of holding more meetings and staging exhibitions in both countries.
