Afghanistan-Pakistan Trade-Transit Opportunities and Challenges

KABUL- A meeting to review Afghanistan-Pakistan trade-transit opportunities and challenges with the country's private sector was held under the chairmanship of H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, with the participate of representatives of Afghanistan Chambers private sector in the conference hall of this Ministry.
This week, delegation of Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, headed by Respected Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood Minister of Commerce and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Economic Affairs, is to visit Kabul to discuss resolving the trade and transit problems between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The aim of this meeting was to prioritize the issues of transit and trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Earlier this month, a government delegation headed by Mr. Ghoryani traveled to Pakistan to attend the Pakistan-Afghanistan Trade-Investment Forum 2020 and discuss solutions to the trade-transit problems of Afghan traders in Pakistan.
During that trip, Mr. Ghoryani MoIC Acting Minister and accompanying delegation, in separate talks with Pakistani officials, the PM Imran Khan and Minister of Commerce, were able to solve 21 major cases of trade-transit and customs problems of Afghan traders were solved.
