Milk and dairy production has increased in Kandahar province

Milko Milk Processing and Packaging Factory in Shurandam Industrial Park of Kandahar Province has been operating for several years and now the production line of this factory has expanded.
The milk processing and packaging plant, which started with Initially $4 million investment; it produced only four items in the dairy sector, but now its production line has been increased to 35 items.
The factory has the capacity to produce 20,000 liters of milk and other dairy products in 24 hours, and has provided employment opportunity to nearly 800 citizens of Kandahar province.
Increased production of dairy products has led to domestic self-sufficiency and reduced imports in the country.
Ministry statistics show that Afghanistan imported 25,000 tons of liquid milk worth $ 39 million in 2016, but in 2019 this figure reached 118 tons worth $ 138,000.
