Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and UNAMA To Enhance Joint Collaborations

The IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce honorable Mr.Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, met with Ms. Roza Otunbayeva, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the development of Afghanistan's industrial parks, establishing an entrepreneurship center and an online trade center, supporting private sector, seeking solutions for lack of electricity within industrial parks, as well as Afghanistan private sector's priorities.

Ms. Otunbayeva provided information regarding Doha 3rd Private Sector Working Group session and appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. She congratulated the Ministry on the successfully managing the recent call for investment in Afghanistan conference and requested launching similar programs within the country's five zones.

The meeting showcases joint commitment for strengthening cooperation for economic growth and supporting the private sector.
