Online meeting of the Minister of Industry and Commerce with the Adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment

Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce attended an online meeting with Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment, with Mr. Kabir Khan Issa Khel, Director of the National Procurement Office and Senior Advisor to the President on Legal Affairs.
Both sides have discussed expanding the level of transit-trade cooperation and making progress in amending the APTTA agreement between the two countries.
Mr. Ghoryani MoIC Minister said, recently, good progress has been made in expanding transit-trade cooperation, which is beneficial to the economies of both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Mr. Ghoryani added, significant progress has been made in amending the APTTA agreement and soon we will witness the conclusion of these discussions based on the common interests of both countries.
Welcoming the expansion of transit-trade cooperation between the two countries, Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan said, Pakistan officials are also interested in increasing the level of economic and trade relations with Afghanistan.
Officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Trade and Investment said, there is optimism that Afghanistan's freight-transit trucks to South Asia and Pakistani freight to Central Asia will be free from the two countries.
The 9th meeting of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Issue Contract Agreement (APTICA) is scheduled to take place shortly, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the IR of Afghanistan with the participation of senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Trade and Investment of Pakistan in Kabul to finalize the text of the APTTA amended agreement.
