The President inaugurated the Rahim Gardizi Group’s Pine-Nut Processing Plant

Rahim Gardizi Group Pine-Nut processing and packaging plant was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, with the participate of cabinet members and representatives of the private sector and governors of Paktia, Paktika, Khost and Logar and a number of elders via video conference in Paktia province.

President Ghani said, I congratulate all the Afghanistan people, especially Rahim Gardizi Group, for the opening of this plant, and I would hand over medals in appreciation of this decent step. The investor of each province must invest in this way in their respective provinces, because this has a significant impact on the stability, solidarity and economic development of the country.

With the opening of this Pine-Nut processing plant, Gardez showed its value not only from a historical point of view but also from an economic point of view, I also thank the people of Paktia, Paktika and Khost for their efforts to protect the pine-nut forests, The President said.

Referring to the vital role of the people in the preservation of forests, the President said, my message is to protect and restore the forests to get their benefits and we will pay major attention and investment in this area.

The $ 6.5 million plant is the first pine-nut processing and packaging plant to open in Paktika.

The plant has a processing and packaging capacity of 20,000 metric tons of pine-nut in a year and has provided work for nearly 2000 residents of Gardez.

With the increase of one thousand tons of pine-nut crops in the forests, private investors, with the encouragement of the President and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, invested in the processing and packaging of pine-nut.

Ministry of Industry and Commerce is preparing a comprehensive marketing guide for Afghanistan's export products in regional and global markets, including marketing for the pin-nut.
