Food prices remain stable during the holy month of Ramadan

Commission to prevent the production, import, and supply of substandard, expired, and counterfeit goods with the participation of government organizations and the private sector under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to ensure the adequacy of dairy products including milk and dairy as well as dates for the holy month of Ramadan has visited food markets in Kabul.
During the visit, food producers and importers assured the commission that there is enough food on the market and rates will remain stable.
These companies promised to reduce the prices of some food items, especially dairy products, during the holy month of Ramadan.
During this visit, 15 items of goods such as gums, celery, coffee, cocoa, ketchup, and fodder, which did not have the health certificate and analysis documents of the above items, were not available at the representative of the importing companies, till next Wednesday, the time was given to make the required documents available to the commission.
Moreover, the representatives of these companies were summoned to present the documents related to these goods to ensure the quality of these goods and, if necessary, to sample these goods and send them to the Ministry of Public Health for quality testing.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which chairs the commission, occasionally visits food markets in Kabul and the provinces with the participation of representatives of government organizations and the private sector to ensure the presence of food in the market and its quality control.
