Iran's Private Sector, Keen to Invest in Afghanistan

IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, meets with the delegation of the private sector of Islamic Republic of Iran, who are officially visiting Kabul, accompanying the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran, honorable Mr. Sayyid Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting, the said representatives of the private sector of Iran, showed interest to invest in Afghanistan's mining, agriculture and industry sectors. They indicated their readiness to provide training programs to Afghanistan's citizens in mining and agriculture sectors, as well as standardizing products, stating that they are ready to cooperate in the above-mentioned sectors with Afghanistan.
Further in the meeting, discussions were held regarding a various topics including enhancing trade between the two countries, maximum utilization of Chabahar Port, avoiding export of low-quality goods to Afghanistan, the issues of joint markets, enhancing exports to Iran, providing the list of goods needed by Iran, cutting transportation and transit costs, and investment of the Republic of Iran in Afghanistan.
Honorable Mr. Alhaj Azizi, stressing the joint cooperation between both countries in various sectors particularly in Chabahar Port, stated that, as planned, both countries have made efforts and as a result the trade between the two countries has grown. In order to fully achieve set goal, we need to lift barriers, he added.
The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, indicating his full support for their programs, added that we are working towards further dynamizing Afghanistan's private sector, as well as further coordination and close cooperating with private sector of Islamic Republic of Iran.
