Meeting with an Investor From the Republic of Uzbekistan

Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, along with senior members of the country's private sector, including First Deputy of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment honorable Mr. Mohammad Younus Mohmand, Chairman of Afghanistan–Pakistan Joint Chamber Mr. Khanjan Alokozai, and Chairman of Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Mr. Sher Agha Sakhi, met with an investor from the Republic of Uzbekistan and his accompanying team.
During the meeting, the Uzbek investor shared his plans to establish factories for textiles, tailoring, construction materials, steel production, and glass manufacturing. He also expressed his interest in working in the poultry and livestock sectors and expressed his desire in increase Afghanistan’s exports to Uzbekistan. He mentioned that the people of Uzbekistan are not well aware of Afghanistan’s industrial and production recent developments and stated that there is a need for providing more awareness in this regard.
Honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi welcomed the investor’s plans, stating that Afghanistan offers favorable opportunities for investment in various sectors, including cold storage, oil refineries, as well as seedling and sapling improvement, where the private sectors of both countries can work together in collaboration.
Mr. Azizi highlighting the significance of facilitating the loading of Afghan traders’ goods on railways and activating scanners in both countries, stated that in order to boost Afghanistan’s trade and transit, obstacles must be lifted and efforts should be made to build mutual trust.
