New Era of Trade & Investment Cooperation Between Afghanistan and Pakistan
KABUL- Afghanistan-Pakistan Customs Information Exchange Memorandum of Understanding between Khalil Salehzadah, DG of Customs of the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan, Mr. Sayed Mohammad Huda, Member of the Customs Board of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with the presence of H.E Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan and Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood Minister of Commerce and Adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment was signed in Kabul.
Conferring to the MoU, customs cooperation between the DG of Customs of Afghanistan and the Customs Board of the Pakistan will begin before the loading of commercial-transit goods of the two countries.
Besides, with the signing of this MoU, a new era of trade & investment cooperation begins between Afghan and Pakistani customs in the fields of sending cargo information before it reaches the destination customs, exchange of figures and customs information, exchange of expertise of both parties to improve customs cooperation and capacity building.
It is worth mentioning that during the visit of H.E Ghoryani and his accompanying delegation to Islamabad earlier this month and their intensive talks on resolving the trade, transit and customs problems of Afghan traders in Pakistan, a MoU was signed between the two countries.
