A Single Unified Union to Be Established for the Pine Nut Sector

The IEA's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, honorable Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi met with traders of pine nut in order to support its members, improve management, resolve unjust competition among them, and to address their challenges.

During the meeting, stressing the establishing pine nut processing factories, discussions were made on pine nut exports, supporting sector members, creating a particular market for pine nut in the country, as well as the challenges faced by the traders.

The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, after listening to their opinions, expressed the ministry’s full support stating that unjust competition among traders must be ended, as soon as possible, where as a unified union should be established by them.

According to traders, currently Afghanistan’s pine nut is being exported to China, India, and European countries.
